As reported Castelfalfi Golf is under reconstruction. There will be two completely new courses of 18 holes each, a Mountain Course and a Lake Course. They are also building a new clubhouse close to the castello and a new golf resort. As of now playing will resume in fall maybe summer 2010 on one course, the other one will follow later.

Reception friendly and helpful, club house and Bar/Restaurant still relatively simple as are the changing rooms/showers (modern facilities in planning phase).
Due to the differences in levels we recommend to rent a cart.
A golf course some 300 m above sea level, profiting nicely from the hilly landscape of upper Tuscany. Truly beautiful, from some holes spectacular views, lots of water hazards. Fairways and greens well kept.
There are golf clubs in Tuscany that would offer more comfort. The course itself, however, easily stands any comparison with more renowned clubs and is with its overall conception and location a truly positive experience. Thus it is more than worthwhile the somewhat longer trip which in the end will carry you through some of the most spectacular landscapes of Tuscany. With regard to its location comparable with Ugolino and Poggio dei Medici. Given its altitude particularly recommendable during the hot season. Easy to combine with a visit to San Gimignano.
How to get there:
From the North: take raccordo Firenze/Pisa/Livorno (FiPiLi), exit Ponsacco, take direction Volterra, thereafter follow traffic signs Castelfalfi (part of the commune of Montaione), see signs where to leave street and turn right and downhill to the course.
From the South: Direction S.Gimignano, from there to Montaione, then Castelfalfi, see sign for golf course.
