Chiaraluna - Trasimeno Villa
Rich and opulent not just the accessory, there is harmony all over the place.
Elegant and classy bath-rooms, rustic old stone and marble bowls with handmade brass fittings, huge candelabra at the ceilings – one really cannot talk about anything being just simple.
What originally was an old farmhouse with its angled niches and rooms has now become a grand style villa. Over the last years the farmhouse has been restored following most recent technical findings and aspects, ready to go in 2006.
Situated on the brink of a tiny village it offers from its slightly elevated location a beautiful view down on Lake Trasimeno and the old fortress at the well-known town of Castiglione del Lago. On the opposite side a splendid panorama over the Tuscany hills.
All bedrooms have their own en-suite bath-room (shower) and all have direct access from outside( some even exclusively); in case of the ground level bedrooms this means direct access to the terrace.
Independently another kitchen is available in the area of the former stables; a huge and noble living with open fire place and comfortable sitting furniture and a beautiful old, long dining table in front of the decorative fire place.
In the middle of the well kept garden of 1 hectare size lies the pool in best location, surrounded by the smell of lavender.
The Villa is entirely surrounded by a garden with lawns and flowerbeds of about 1 h
The pool is located about 20 m from the house and is fully equipped with 2 gazeboes, deckchairs, tables and chairs and an outdoor shower at the poolside.
The geographic location at the historical triangle between Tuscany-Lazio and Umbria offers best opportunities for a wide spread and interesting cultural programme.The richly equipped kitchen in country house style has exits to two terraces, one towards the lake and the other towards the pool. Connected to the kitchen there is the breakfast room, nicely divided by arcs, the doors to the terrace arched as well. Here, too, is a small bath-room.
Solleone with fire place – 1st floorCarmine is the ruling colour, the golden touch underlines the noble character. Crystal candelabra in the bath-room, the bowl of cut stone – what a contrast!
Crepuscolo, the twilight - Blue colours create a kind of severity, immediately smoothed by bright gold. The tub in the bath-room, with light blue tiles, can also be used as a shower.
Chiaraluna - The fine shades of green will please your eyes and make you relax. Here again there is a tub in empire style.The bath-room is particularly rich with frescoes taking away any kind of severity from the tiles’green-white mosaic.
Alba – the dawn - The suite that covers two levels, from the 1st floor up to the former pigeonry. From up here you will enjoy a 360° view over the Tuscan hills and Lake Trasimeno in Umbria.
Aurora – another kind of dawn…..Violet and blue the colours, the accents being set by gold. The comfortable tub of old style in the bedroom will most probably be used with the greatest pleasure. The open fire place is very decorative and will provide additional atmosphere during the cooler season.
Rosso di Sera – the sunset. Nostalgic colours and cosiness dominate this section. The changing effects of light in the bath-room offer a feeling of warmth and emotions.
Tramonto – the sundownGreen and beige colours create a relaxing atmosphere. The wall frescoes elegantly and lightly match in colour.

This place, too, is a real dream, the sunsets with their uniquely intensive mixture of colours and the impressive atmosphere that goes with them will enchant everyone. We all, at least many of us, know the area from Hannibal's battles, Cartaginians against the Romans, but the lake is also very well known as a preferred swimming lake and for the
overwhelming beauty of the surrounding landscape.
The old city of Castiglione del Lago with its stark city-walls and the impressive castle and its battlement sits high above the lake, visible from great distance, surrounded by the waters of the lake. As a matter of fact, the location has been an island in former times - nowadays the city is connected with the mainland by way of a
barrage.
Today the city is almost completely car-free, along the city walls there are lots of parking areas, which means you may freely stroll through the streets and conquer this medieval town. In any case you should visit the old castle where in summer festivals take place.
Signora Alice, your landlady, will provide you any kind of information for the whole bunch of activities around the lake, she is a member of the local tourist information office.
Farmer's markets are in the morning: Castiglione del Lago on Wednesdays, Panicale Friday.
Città della Pieve on lake Trasimeno was the birth-place of Perugino.
