This Holiday Villa Tuscany has formerly been part of the Medici family properties, dowry for one of their daughters. Still today the villa proudly shows the Medici crest above the wooden main entrance portal.
Built in the renaissance style of the period this villa convinces us with its classically clear elegance as well as with its extraordinary spaciousness and dimensions.
The furniture partly consist of original pieces that have found place in the villa over the centuries.
Just 7 km away from the beautiful medieval town of San Miniato this villa is situated on the outer edge of the small and sleepy village of Stibbio, its entrance facing the quiet village centre.From its park side the view goes over the huge private area where there is also the pool, detached and very well kept - like an oasis. The villa has been completely renovated in 2006, but it goes without saying that its original character has been maintained. Modern and very comfortable bath-rooms were installed as well as heating system and air-conditioning in every room.
The huge kitchen with open fireplace reflects the concept of comfort and practicality which also opens the opportunity to prepare meals for larger groups of people. This Tuscany villa is a very representative holiday domicile for clearly elevated demands, at the same time the many enchanting accessories and details giving the old venerable villa a touch of cosiness and much personality.
The villa with its clear front architecture lies as the centre-piece in the row of buildings opposite the old village church. The large terrace, divided in two levels, leads to the garden. There are still and well kept the elements of an ancient “wishing well” and small columns providing a very romantic atmosphere. Furnished with several tables and comfortable garden chairs this place offers a charming view over the Voghera valley.
At ground level there is the large and impressive dining room with its long elegant old wood table in front of the big stone fire-place, the kitchen as well as smaller side rooms and guests’ bath-room. The hall itself is separated from the entrance by a large glass wall and by that has not lost anything of its original impressive architecture.
From here a wide stone staircase gives access to the upper floor. You first come into a big living room with its elegant and comfortable sitting area. To the left and to the right there are corridors leading to the various bedrooms. One wing houses three, the other one two bedrooms. One of the bedrooms is en-suite with another small room with a single bed.
So all in all there are 11 beds available. To each of the 5 bedrooms a supplementary daybed could be arranged offering then facilities for 5 additional persons. One of the large bedrooms and the en-suite have a sloped ceiling. All bed rooms are named after Medici Ladies.
The beautiful pool in its charming location and well kept area has in its middle a proud old olive tree almost as an island; at the pool you will have sun- loungers, chairs and umbrellas as well as a changing room and toilets. The pool is dayly at your disposal until 18:00, in the evening (almost only) Saturdays the owner himselv reserves the right to use the pool area for dinner parties. The pool is located below the villa and can be reached using an old path that leads there directly from the villa, just some 600 mtrs walking ; you could of course also use the car which would take 2 minutes on the small road from the village down to the valley.
