Probably no other Italian city is renowned for its „liberty style villas“ as is Lucca. They practically surround the old defence belt and thus build a kind of girdle just outside the walls.
The villa we offer is a particularly beautiful example of the Italian art nouveau, the Liberty. As it is one of the best kept pieces of architecture of that time the Italian media “La Nazione” has devoted an article to the villa.
The villa was built in 1919; as it has been inhabited at all times since it is best preserved and very well kept. Nowadays, of course, with all attributes of modern comfort it is ready to become your holiday domicile.
Who does not know Lucca yet will surrender to its charm very quickly. Let us start our sightseeing tour at its unique city walls from where you will get a first impression.
But also the province of Lucca has a lot to offer: The marvellous historical Lucca country villas with their splendid gardens. The Garfagnana, a wild romantic natural reserve with impressive mountains where in winter one can go skiing. The nearby sea where to get in 20 minutes, and many other things.
On a bike you will be mobile all over Lucca, the city from where motor cars have been banned, just residents are authorized to drive and park.
At a place in ten minutes of walking you may rent bikes, best prices for who rents per week. Let us come back to Lucca Villa Angelica: it is some 150-200 m from the city walls, i.e. in walking distance to the city centre with all its historic buildings. At a few meters you will find a coffee bar, restaurant, pizzeria, bakery, food shop, butcher and newspaper shop.
The well kept garden with its hedges is ideal for relaxed sunbaths. An elegant textile pergola and of course the old trees offer shadow if so desired.
