This former manor lies just on top of the row of hills separating Lucca from the sea in absolutely great panoramic location: just submontane is Lago Massaciuccoli with Puccini's famous Villa at Torre di Lago where he composed his well known opusses and indulged his passion of duck hunting.
The location of the property is truly fantastic, not just because of the views, the climate and the quietness, but also for its proximity to Lucca, Pisa and the sea.
La Torre has been restored in 2004; surrounded by charming blooming bushes and flowers it lies in vicinity with two other houses in breathtaking panoramic location.
In front of you there are the tops of close or more distant hills and of course at some distance the sea. One can see the Pisa pending tower and the dome cupola and towards the sea even the islands like Corsica under good weather conditions.
Access to the house from the terrace to a large living/dining room with comfortable kitchen section. From up here one has that beautiful view over softly decling chains of hills over to the impressive Tuscany landscape. If you are lucky today you might have an absolutely clear view and see the leaning tower of Pisa or the islands.
A nice stone staircase with tasteful forged iron bannister on the side of the corridor below leads to the lower floor. 
Here both bedrooms have own access to the garden. The bigger one has its en-suite bath-room with tub, all kept in soft antique yellow colours. The second bath-rom (shower) to be reached from the corridor.
The furniture harmoniously matches the style of the house, modern where it needs to offer comfort, antique where special effects were desired.
In the vicinity of the house there is a pool in fabulous panoramic location that serves exclusively the guests of the holiday houses Torre and Pietra. The area around the pool and the three buildings is somewhat separated by differences in level which create a natural division between the various sections and houses. The pool area is equipped with sun loungers and chairs.
The third house on the property is the former farm house, that is where the owner's mother is living - completely withdrawn and helped by house servants. These three historic houses of peasant origin are placed in the most spectacular location of the large property. At about 100 meters distance lies the old mason (villa) with its annexes. In former times wine and olive oil were produced at the farm; now there is no more farming activity and you may enjoy the calmness at this truly unusually pretty place with its almost unending range of its great panorama - a unique feel of freedom.

Please keep in mind: should you intend to have a barbecue please leave the stand on the terrace, grasss is dry in summer...

She owned the manor house of the Counts of Compignano where she spent many happy hours also with her sister Paolina Borghese. It has also been here where she suffered her most painful defeat: being the sovereign of Lucca, the Alliance “only” left her the title Countess of Compignano after the fall of her brother Napoleon.
The climate is mild as it is influenced by the near sea, citrus plants are growing, a privilege normally held only by the further South area of Rome. Today’s landlord owns the property in fourth generation. His mother used to be a famous horse breeder. One of the horses is still there together with donkeys, dogs, cats and what else belongs to country life on the very spacious property.
Wonderful walks through olive plantations are more than inviting options.
