Beautiful the view on to the silhouette of the Garfagnana hills in the North and the glimpse of the Monte Pisano in the South. Only 5 km from Altopascio with its motorway access and train station this country house is strategically best located for those who want to explore Tuscany and its treasures.
Originally the house had been the working quarters of a Florentine family’s mansion, the family still owns the property today.Signora Angela and her family have reconstructed this jewel over the last few years, exploiting with much architectural fantasy and elegance the height and largeness of all rooms, resulting in contrast in cosy areas, just making full use of the country house flair we want to enjoy.
The area is fenced, direct access to the country house through a private remote control gate. The very large private area is then divided from the mansion by bushes and hedges. There is a small vineyard, a little olive grove and lots of fruit trees; in the end, however, it is the century old deciduous trees and their shade that dominate the charm of this garden, you will enjoy in the shade the special flair of country life even in hot summers. With its many beautiful and varying areas the garden will offer something for everybody.
The pool will attract all, a small football pitch will fascinate the youngsters, a table tennis under old chestnut trees will most probably see tough matches. A very large covered terrace outside the dining kitchen will most certainly be the central point for your party’s outside country life.
Coming back to the house itself, certainly not less attractive than the garden. Five arched entrances with French windows connect house and garden, integrating the surrounding nature; in other words: you will be part of the tranquil nature and its green at summer as at winter time.
Two differently arranged living rooms, each with open fire place, and the large kitchen with its inviting long dining table are separated just by beautiful arches.
A small wine tasting area with a very well equipped wine shelf might be the favourite place for the “connaisseurs”, prices to be seen in place.
The living, covering more than half of the internal area, includes a gallery on its top.
The gallery may be used as a studio or as an open bedroom offering two forged iron sofas which can be quickly transformed into beds. On the ground floor there is a charming bedroom, with an en-suite bath-room and a small private terrace with table and chairs. From the living area a staircase leads to the upper floor, two different levels there just divided by a few steps. Here we find four charming bedrooms and three bath-rooms; from the lower level access also to the gallery.
All in all a most beautiful house, very light, absolutely spacious, care- and tastefully furnished, but comfortable at the same time. Only about 1000m you need to go for the small village where you can shop, eat out or just get your coffe.
In about 6 kms distance, Altopascio, is the motorway access and the station from where almost each hour are going trains to Florence or Lucca.
Signora Angela lives in Florence, she might come over weekends and stay in the mansion together with her mother in order to be available should you ask for support or advice. In summer she will be here most of the time and she really takes pleasure offering fresh vegetable from her own garden to the guests.
There is also a pool in the mansion's garden.
